Benefits of Pool Heat Pumps

A heat pump for the pool offers a whole range of advantages. We have compiled the most important ones for you.

  • Thanks to the pleasant water temperatures, your pool can be used even when the outside temperature is relatively low.

  • Pool heat pumps are extremely efficient and environmentally friendly. The devices get a large part of the energy they need from the ambient air.

  • Heat pumps for the pool are quick to install and require relatively little space.

  • Our heat pumps score points for their high efficiency and long service life.

  • You also benefit from a very low noise level when installing our heat pump. Our heat pumps are extremely quiet.

C.O.P. efficiency of our pool heat pumps

The efficiency of a heat pump for the pool is expressed in terms of the C.O.P. (Coefficient of Performance). The higher the C.O.P. value, the greater the electricity savings. For a pool heat pump, this value represents the ratio of electricity consumption to the heat output via the heat exchanger.

The C.O.P. value of up to 15 of our pool heat pumps means that one kilowatt hour of electricity is converted into up to 15 kilowatt hours of heating power. For 15 kW of energy, you only pay 1 kW, and the remaining 14 kW are extracted from the ambient air by the heat pump used in the pool, which consumes 1 kW.

Heat pumps for all Pool sizes

Regardless of whether you have a small or large pool, we offer the right heat pump for every type of pool. Particularly powerful models are available for large pools in hotels and swimming pools. Ours impress with their high efficiency and performance. In the table below you will find guidance on choosing the right pump size.

FAQ

  • Which Heat Ppump is right for your Pool?
When choosing a suitable pool heat pump, the heating output of the device and the volume of water to be heated are the decisive factors. Tip: It is worth choosing a higher power level than you need for your pool size according to the product description. This is because with a more powerful heat pump, the running time is limited to the warmest hours of the day and the device can therefore run at a low level. This means that pool heat pumps do not have to heat in the cooler night and thus with a lower efficiency. The price difference between two power levels is marginal over a period of 15 to 20 years. The better efficiency in the warmest hours of the day more than makes up for the difference. In addition, you can enjoy the luxury of the pool heating up much faster during the heat pump's heating phase. We would be happy to advise you personally so that you can choose exactly the version that best suits your needs.
  • How is a Pool Heat Pump integrated into existing pool systems?
Your pool heat pump can be easily integrated into your pool's filter circuit using the supplied connections. It is important that the device is installed in the right place, namely where the cleaned water from the filter system is fed back to the pool. In addition, you should definitely use a so-called bypass so that the amount of water flowing into the heat pump's heat exchanger is regulated.
  • Does a Pool Heat Pump make sense?
A Pool Heat Pump is a sensible investment. First of all, a pool heat pump increases the service life of your pool: you can start enjoying swimming all year round. Compared to other pool heaters, the Pool Heat Pump scores with efficiency. It uses heat from the ambient air to heat your pool water, which is an energy-saving and environmentally friendly solution. In addition, the operating costs of a pool heat pump are lower than those of a conventional heater. You also benefit in terms of installation: our high-quality heat pumps are easy to install and operate. Maintenance costs also remain manageable - another plus point.
  • How long does it take to heat a Pool with a Heat Pump?
The time it takes to heat a pool with a heat pump depends on various factors. As a general rule, you can expect it to take around two to three days to raise the water temperature by 20 degrees Celsius. However, this time can vary depending on the size of your pool, the outside temperature, the desired water temperature and the capability of your pool heat pump. It is important to remember that a heat pump uses energy from the surrounding air to heat the pool water, so the outside temperature can play a crucial role. In cooler temperatures, it can take longer to heat the pool. We therefore always recommend setting the heat pump to a constant temperature and running it continuously instead of turning it on and off. This will ensure that your bathing pleasure with warm water is always guaranteed. It is also more energy efficient and will increase the lifespan of your pool heat pump.
  • How does a Pool Heat Pump work?
After you have set up the pool heat pump, connect it to the power supply and determine the desired water temperature. From then on, this is maintained fully automatically. The principle behind it is very simple: With the help of a compressor, the pool heat pump extracts heat from the ambient air before it is then transferred to the water via a heat exchanger. Important: If you do not want to use the pool heat pump in winter, you only need to drain the water from the device. This means that the heat pump can remain outside at your location in winter. We recommend a suitable winter protective cover for this.
  • How warm does a Pool with a Heat Pump get?
Would you like to enjoy the benefits of your pool not only in summer but also in the colder seasons? Our pool heat pump can heat your pool to up to 35-40 degrees.
  • How much electricity does a heat pump need for the pool?
The efficiency of a heat pump for your pool is determined by the so-called C.O.P. (Coefficient of Performance) value. The C.O.P. indicates the ratio of electricity consumed to the heat output generated by the heat exchanger. A higher C.O.P. therefore means high efficiency and thus greater electricity savings. For example, a C.O.P. of up to 15 for pool heat pumps means that one kilowatt hour of electricity is converted into up to 15 kilowatt hours of heating energy. Put simply, you pay just 1 kilowatt hour of electricity for 15 kilowatt hours of heat energy. The heat pump draws the remaining 14 kilowatt hours from the ambient air. A high C.O.P. value is worthwhile for you - both financially and in terms of responsible use of natural resources.
  • Can a Pool Heat Pump also be used for cooling?
Yes, our pool heat pump can also be used to cool the water. In this case, the cycle is reversed and the pool water becomes the heat source. This option is particularly important when the outside temperature is extremely high in summer. As soon as the water temperature exceeds 28 degrees, the formation of toxic algae and bacteria is encouraged - and these in turn pose a considerable health risk.
  • What is the ideal location for a Heat Pump?
When choosing the ideal location for your pool heat pump, there are a few things to consider. It is particularly important that the device is not placed in a closed room, as a smooth heating or cooling process requires constant fresh air circulation. To ensure that this is not impaired, a minimum distance from buildings, trees and other potential interference factors should also be taken into account.
  • Where is the ideal location for Heat Pumps at the Pool?
The Pool Heat Pump can be installed up to 30 meters away from the existing pool piping. It is also important that the device is placed on a solid surface, for example on a cast concrete foundation or on a paved surface. Due to its weight, the pool heat pump should not simply be placed on the lawn or on the ground, as there is a risk that it will sink in the long term. This should be avoided, as the device may otherwise no longer function properly.
